Raw Chocolate Mousse

This is my idea of heaven. A raw dessert that’s packed full of nutrients, requires minimal ingredients and is ready in minutes. I bet you even have all the ingredients ready to go.

Nutritionally, what I love about this dish is that it’s high in good fats and refined sugar free, both of which act as a natural portion control. You’re still going to need a little willpower, but what you will avoid is a blood sugar spike and the associated energy crash, cravings, over indulging and guilt. Real food is good like that.

Ingredients (Serves 4)

  • 1 x 400ml can full fat coconut cream
  • ½ avocado
  • 1 banana OR ½ banana + 2 tablespoons rice malt syrup
  • 2 tablespoons raw cacao
  • 1 pinch sea salt
  • Cacao nibs, for topping

Method

  1. Blend all ingredients except for cacao nibs until smooth.
  2. Chill in the fridge before serving. Top with cacao nibs and enjoy.

I love this recipe so much! The best part is my slightly fussy 4yo also loves it and says it’s delicious. Thank you – great way to get some healthy fats into him (I also hide a little bit of grass fed gelatin in there too!)

Love this recipe ! Thank you ! Perfect for dinner parties to make prior and chill before serving. Added a bit of gelatin to aid setting, and 2 tbsp of Orange Liquer (Cointreau or Grand Marnier). Spooned it on top of a few mandarin (could use Orange) segments that I’d poached in water with juice of an orange, a cinnamon stick and star anise. Zested the orange prior to squeezing, and used for garnish. Huge hit
