ABOUT

Welcome to The Natural Nutritionist, it’s so great to have you here.

With a passion for spreading a positive message about real food and the incredible affect it has on health, fertility and performance, Steph launched The Natural Nutritionist in 2011 and is on a mission to inspire others to make health a priority in their lives. We would love for you to join us in real food living and performance.

All of our recipes contain minimal ingredients, and if we can make them, so can you! We don’t have any formal kitchen qualifications, just a love of quality and delicious food. We truly believe that if you make your health a priority, you will find the time to prepare healthy food for yourself and your loved ones.

Meet Steph

HEAD HONCHO & SPORTS NUTRITIONIST

Hi there, I’m Steph. I’m a Sports Nutritionist, yogi and cashew butter addict from Melbourne, Victoria. And I’m here to teach you how easy real food living and performance can be.

I have been practising as an LCHF Nutritionist since 2011 and have seen thousands of lives changed around the globe, from adopting this way of life. We only need to look around our own neighbourhood to realise that chronic diseases such as obesity, diabetes, heart disease and cancer are reaching epidemic proportions, and to the science that proves how much our modern-day dietary guidelines are to blame. I am honoured to have you join us for this program, to not only present you with the research but teach you the healing power of real food.

As an LCHF Nutritionist, I feel it is important to discuss that LCHF is not a diet, it’s a lifestyle. It’s about reconnecting to food as it once was, before the influence of government, large-scale agriculture and ‘Big Food’. It’s about taking control of your health and unlocking your inbuilt potential to supercharge your metabolism, burn fat and extend your longevity. LCHF should first and foremost be about health with positive flow-on effects including satiety, mood stability, appetite control, mental clarity, improved inflammatory markers and weight loss.

There are many versions of LCHF across the globe but personal opinion is that LCHF should be the same as Just Eat Real Food (JERF). I have chosen not to use the word ‘ketogenic’ in my work, as there seems to be a current division and confusion as to the exact definition of what is a ketogenic diet, and my belief is that as long as it is tailored appropriately, LCHF can be a way of life for everybody.

Whether you are looking to further your clinical knowledge and/or wanting to deepen your own health journey, remember this: real food comes out of the ground, off a tree, or from an animal.

A little more about me:

  • I have an undergraduate degree in Sport and Exercise Science and a post graduate degree in Human Nutrition.
  • I’m a member of the Complementary Medicine Association (CMA).
  • I have been gluten free for a decade now, and literally because it makes me happy. You can read more about my story .
  • How did I get to where I am now? Passion and consistency. My biggest piece of advice is to dive straight in – study, blog, create, share and enjoy the journey. Do what you love, love what you do.

Meet Elly

HOLISTIC NUTRITIONIST & JERF LOVER

Hello! I’m Elly. Marathon runner, Nutritionist, wannabe yogi and yes, my favourite food is kale. I believe that food is fuel, but above all else, should be enjoyed.

My goal is to see you smash your chosen lifestyle goals. By teaching you how to prioritise real food and providing a little accountability, I’ll help you get there.

My curiosity with nutrition began when I was 17 – obsessed with watching tennis, football and ironman I pondered how, through nutrition, these incredible athletes could maximise performance. Not quite what the average 17 year old is thinking about, my passion in the making.

Since then I’ve been on a health journey of my own – I have experienced the struggle of juggling study, training and building a career, as well as the associated burnout, but I’ve also (thankfully) turned it around by focusing on real food and lifestyle. The personal experience has reminded me that through nutrition we can fuel the best version of ourselves – we all have ambitions and going about life in third gear just won’t suffice when it comes to achieving them.

I have a bachelor’s degree in Health Science, majoring in Exercise Science and Nutrition, I’m a member of the Nutrition Society of Australia and a certified Integrative Health Coach. I specialise in working with individuals to maximise their potential through eating real food.
