New Recipe: Steph’s Super Easy Dairy Free Sour Cream

Recently whilst waiting for our nachos to cook, we wanted a dairy free sour cream to top the dish. A little experimentation later, we perfected a super easy dairy free sour cream. A great addition to your meals or as a snack with vegie sticks, I hope you love it as much as I do.

Ingredients (Serves 8)

  • ½ cup water
  • ½ cup tahini
  • The juice of 2 limes
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

Method

  1. Add water, tahini, lime juice and salt to a food processor or blend and pulse until well combined.
  2. Keep the processor or blender running at the lowest speed and slowly add oil. Tempting to devour immediately with celery sticks but try to allow to chill in the fridge for 30 minutes to thicken.

HI Thanks for that, can it last few days in the fridge and can I use it as if I would used any sour cream in any of my cooking? regards Chantal

It will keep for 4-5 days in the fridge and won’t replicate standard sour cream completely but you can definitely get creative with it in the kitchen. Enjoy.
